This class is for basic introduction into the world of Raqs Sharqi dance.

Using dance as shadow work has completely altered how I view shadow work in general. This is moving for emotional release. It’s for channeling anger, pain, grief, excitement, passion into a tangible form. Purging that which no longer serves me by grounding into the earth in this bare footed dance of my middle eastern ancestors. Anyone who has experienced the zone of meditation, yoga, somatic movement will understand this feeling well. It has helped me lift colonized view of my body image. I came into myself with dance. I continue to nurture myself with dance. I danced with my child in the womb and now Luisa has given me the opportunity to continue dancing with my daughter as she drums along, hip scarf clad and all. This spring is beginning to call you to stretch your physical body and imagination. You won’t want to miss this opportunity.

Group KAP Experience for LGBTQIA+ People
February 3-4, 2024 in Peekskill, NY
Hudson Valley Psychedelic Therapy and Rooted Well are excited to offer a weekend intensive Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) retreat that is specifically oriented around the needs and experiences of LGBTQIA+ people.
During this two-day, in-person program, participants will journal, prepare for their ketamine session both individually and as a group, utilize movement and breathwork, build community with providers and other participants, and process their experiences during group integration sessions. Participants will have the option of adding acupuncture by a licensed practitioner, either prior to or following KAP experiential sessions.
Hosted in a comfortable and spacious studio within Peekskill’s historic Hat Factory building, this immersive weekend weaves together traditional ketamine-assisted therapy and other complimentary somatic practices, in a setting that fosters shared community and relationship-building. This weekend retreat is designed and facilitated by LGBTQIA+ practitioners, for LGBTQIA+ community members, and hosted within Little Wolf Collective, a women and queer-owned space. We will prioritize a certain number of participant slots for BIPOC.
